Exploring Bunz

The babies are out of the nestbox now, at 3 weeks old the eyes are open and the squeakers are ready to explore. This video is really dark, since rabbits don't like the heat we have them under our deck, but it makes it really difficult to get a clear picture since the light is so dim. This was taken at 4 pm and totally bright out.... oh well we need a new camera.

Cuteness overload (baby in food dish):

The little squeakers like to climb in and eat the grain, right now they fit perfect inside it. I've seen several of them at it. The world is their jungle gym.

  1. Man, I would have a heck of a time killing and prepping them to eat! No problem eating them once they are no longer recognizable though,I guess that makes me weak, eh?

  2. Just a note here: I saw your comment at Crunchy Chicken and decided to check your blog. I really like it and the design is tres cool. I just planted two columnar apple trees today in the six square inches of sunlight on our teensy lot(hyperbole) and I put in four blueberry bushes last fall and they all survived! That is good for South Dakota.
I will be reading and commenting so I thought I would say hi.

  4. equa yona(Big Bear)- Weak, absolutely not!! I think at this stage I would have a hard time with it. Home processing is never easy, and it shouldn't be. We do it not only for the local food movement but for lessons in gratitude being involved in the whole process from birth to dinner.

Also, Welcome! I am glad you found me through Crunchy, that's how I find new blogs to read too! I've lost trees when I plant in the fall so I never do it, now I plant only in the spring time. I just planted 3 new blueberry bushes... maybe I should do a blog post about that?

Mr.H- Oh crap I know, they grow like crazy and it's a good thing they don't stay this cute for long.... otherwise I'd have to put out the FREE BUNNIES sign. LOL!
