Leeks
I harvested some leeks this morning. About half of the crop is going to stay in the ground and I'll attempt to overwinter them. I am new at crop rotation so I kinda screwed it up and had leeks planted where I'll need to get garlic in the ground. Oh well, so I pulled some the leeks and plan to slice and freeze them for quick access for soups. Mmmm.... potato leek soup.

a beautiful box of leeks. I should look into growing these next year. I'd love to be able to harvest some leeks right about now - as enter soup making season.

ReplyDeletemeemsnyc- Leeks are good and good for you! I started mine from seed, they were surprisingly easy to start and grow, plus they don't take up much space. I find leeks easier than onions because you can just leave them in the ground.
