I noticed we have our first mason bee tenant. I went out today and there is a second one covered in mud as well. Mason bees, cover the opening with mud to seal the larva inside.
Yes! Mason bees do TONS of pollination and are a wonderful addition to any garden. I plan to get honey bees too, but supporting the local population of solitary bees or mason bees should be a garden priority too.
